Don’t miss the Prosper Fishing Derby, where the best catch might just be the memories you make! This favorite annual event brings families together by the pond as young anglers compete for prizes for Most Fish Caught. Judges will be on hand to track catches, and winners in age categories up to 14 will be recognized at the event’s end. The Derby is free, and no registration is required. Whether your child is casting their first line or already a fishing pro, come enjoy a fun morning outdoors this February!
Know before you go: Don’t forget your pole, bait, and cooler! Check the weather and dress for the day. Hot coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will be available to keep you warm. Anglers 17 and older must have a valid Texas fishing license (available online).
The pond will be stocked with mostly rainbow trout by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The Derby is a catch-and-keep event for trout only, with a limit of five per person.
