Prosper Police Officer Apprehends Suspect Fleeing Traffic Stop

From The Town of Prosper Police Department:
On September 18th, 2024, a Prosper Police Officer observed a vehicle conduct various traffic violations. The officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle for the observed violations. While the officer was speaking with the driver of the vehicle, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Once another officer arrived at the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle was asked to step out of the vehicle. Officers began to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle.
As officers conducted a search of the vehicle, the driver tried to flee the scene on foot. After a short foot chase, officers caught the driver. While taking him into custody, he began to resist and attempted to bite officers. Officers were able to get the driver into handcuffs and take him into custody. After completing the search of the vehicle, officers located 5.35 ounces of marijuana.
