Wasn't it a temporary coaches tower rather than the band tower? Four kids were climbing on it and they were not to be on it. The band tower is a permanent structure. Please let me know if my info is incorrect.
@FriscoRocks :
The principal released a statement and also called it an "old band tower". Statement is below: "Centennial Community,
This evening, an old band tower on our campus collapsed, and several young people that had been climbing the structure were injured and transported to local hospitals.
Our hearts are with these young people and their families during this difficult time, and we are keeping them in our thoughts.
The Frisco ISD Maintenance Department is working to secure the scene including installing an orange safety fencing around the perimeter of the structure. The Maintenance Department will dismantle the structure. In the meantime, we ask that the community not approach the area.
Please keep all of these young people in your thoughts. While we know many in our community are concerned, due to student privacy, we cannot share details regarding the students or their conditions.
I am grateful for the partnership we share with the Frisco Police and Fire Departments, who were quick to arrive.
Sincerely,
Kiara Henderson
Principal, Centennial High School"
